Not surprisingly, Mr. Chavez expressed solidarity with American activists who have been staging rallies and marches against what they view as corporate greed by Wall Street.

The U.S. protests, which began last month in New York and have spread to Tampa, Florida, Seattle and other cities, have mostly been peaceful but sometimes resulted in confrontations. Dozens were arrested and police used pepper spray in New York earlier this week.

“This movement of popular outrage is expanding to 10 cities and the repression is horrible, I don’t know how many are in prison now,” Mr. Chavez said in comments at a political meeting in his Caracas presidential palace shown on state TV.

Liberty Square has grown exponentially over the last three weeks. It is time to form a second General Assembly in Manhattan. We expect more to follow.

On October eighth at three in the afternoon a General Assembly will convene in Washington Square Park. At the same time Anti-Flag will play an acoustic set in Liberty Square in solidarity with our movement’s expansion.

We are growing. Block by block – city by city. We will see change in this country, in this world. It will happen sooner than you can imagine.

Has had claim against him of the sexual harassment of Sgt. Nelson Fernandez:

Fernandez described some of the incidents to the News.

“He’ll call me in for no particular reason. Then he’ll lounge back with his feet up, and he puts a pen in his mouth and starts sucking on it in a sexual manner,” Fernandez claimed.

According to the report, Connolly has also told Fernandez “how sexy” he looks.

Fernandez also alleges Connolly ogled his crotch and rubbed up against him on the subway.

As the Occupation moves into autumn we need to prepare for the onset of of chilly weather.

Most Needed:

Sleeping bags, blankets, tarps and large, clear plastic storage bins to keep it all dry.

Polar fleece sweaters, pants, socks and gloves are also appreciated as, they are durable, easy to clean, keep even the soggiest occupiers warm, and everybody has some buried in a box somewhere.

We are not allowed to set up tents in Liberty Plaza as they are considered both a structure and an obstruction. We have implemented the use of a few bivouac/bivy sacks and are under the impression that they are not considered a “structure,” so long as they do not have a pole holding them up. There are cheap disposable Emergency Bivys ranging from $5-15 and more durable ones starting at about $50

General needs amongst the various working groups are: pens, walkie-talkies, earbuds, rain ponchos, tarps, BIG umbrellas, BIG plastic totes, plastic drawer bins, LED headlamps, box cutters, scissors, notepads, Chap-Sticks, disposable safety razors, male and female undies, GFI extension cords, towels, blankets, socks, soap, toothbrushes, folding tables, a Honda 2000i generator, 6.5 gallon pots for cooking large quantities of food, operable bicycles, bike trailers, server space, digital camcorders, used laptops, folding tables and chairs, rags, deck brush, 50 gallon trash bags.

We are Anonymous! Recently something very disturbing has come to our attention. You must take all notices and information claiming to be ‘Anonymous’ with a grain of salt. Consider EVERYTHING.

Operation Invade Wall Street is bullshit! It is a fake planted operation by law enforcement and cyber crime agencies in order to get you to undermine the Occupy Wall Street movement. It proposes you use depreciated tools that have known flaws such as LOIC.

Anonymous would never tell you to use LOIC - Not after the arrests and failures of Operation Payback.

Anonymous wouldn’t attack NYSE on a HOLIDAY - It is debatable if Anonymous would ever even attack NYSE.

Be wary friends!

We should be aware that such things are going to continue to happen, and spread awareness of methods the establishment uses to undermine movements like this. Always seek verification before following up any supposed plans with action.

Nurses Call for Tax on Wall Street to Heal America

Nurses, who every day care for the casualties of the economic crisis driven by Wall Street greed, plan to hold a rally in Dewey Square at the site of the Occupy Boston Protest, to show their support for the movement and to highlight the MNA/NNU’s “Main Street Contract” campaign for a tax on Wall Street financial speculation to provide revenue for Main Street reforms, including jobs at living wages, quality education, guaranteed health care for all, and freedom from hunger, homelessness, and retirement insecurity. 

The action is part of the opening day activities of the Massachusetts Nurses Association/National Nurses United 2011 Convention (Oct. 5 – 7), being held at the Boston Marriott in Newton.  Hundreds of nurses from all corners of the Commonwealth will board buses at the event and head to the rally at 3 p.m.
